Dr. Anil Kumar received his doctorate in Chemistry from National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune. He did his M.Sc. in physical chemistry from Agra University & earlier his B.Sc. in chemistry from Rohilkhand University.
Current research projects under investigation with Dr. Anil Kumar include non-bonding interactions in molten phase, electrotriction in DNA, hydrophobic packing in Diels-Alder reactions, physical chemistry of ionic liquids, improving performance of ionic liquids in chemical transformations, hydrophobic effects in chemistry of carbohydrates used as renewable organic raw materials, etc.
Dr. Anil Kumar is a Fellow of Indian National Science Academy (New Delhi), Indian Academy of Sciences (Bangalore), The National Academy of Sciences (Allahabad) and Maharastra Academy of Sciences.
He has received numerous other awards including Chemito Award for significant contribution to physical-organic chemistry, FICCI Award for outstanding contribution to knowledge based industries, Scientist of the Year Award by NCL Research Foundation, etc. He has published more than 140 papers and is a member on editorial board of many Indian & International journals. Dr. Anil Kumar has collaborative projects with University of California, Berkeley; University of Lyon and Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, University of California.
