Design of Green Chemistry and Technology (GCT) platforms is now at the core of the chemical industry. A profound transformation in the conceptualization, design and development of chemical processes and products is now being witnessed globally. Newer and safer processes and products through alternate raw materials, reaction media, solvents, and process design are being identified, assessed and deployed.

Emerging catalytic, bio-process, nano, and micro reaction and technologies hold much promise and are expected to usher in a new era in chemical manufacturing. Besides, bio-transformation of renewables into chemical feed stocks and rational design of safer processes and products have also become focus areas today.
