Speaking on Innovations in catalysis as a tool for greener chemical products


Prof. G. D. Yadav earned his B. Chem. Eng. in 1974 and Ph.D. (Tech.) in Chemical Engineering in 1980 from ICT (formerly UDCT).

He is also  the Chief Coordinator  of the Centre for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology, and Centre for Green Technology of the University of Mumbai at Kalina Campus. Earlier, Dr. Yadav was Darbari Seth Professor and Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, and, as well as Dean, Research, Consultancy and Resource Mobilisation at ICT. He has made seminal and extensive contributions to Green Chemistry and Technology, Catalytic Science and Engineering, Phase Transfer Catalysis, Nanomaterials, Nanocatalysis and Biocatalysis. He is honoured by number of fellowships and awards, including Fellowship of INSA, Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK among others.

He is an active consultant to a number of industries and his research is commercialized. He has published 219 original research papers in 41 different international peer reviewed journals with high impact factors, which find over 2500 citations in papers (with an h-index of  25), book/ monographs (27) and international company brochures (3). He has obtained 31 patents and developed the UDCaT series of novel catalytic materials. He has guided 55 Ph. D. (Chemical Engineering, Technology, Biotechnology and Chemistry) and 52 Masters Theses, as a single guide, written 2 books. He has currently 15 Ph. D. and 8 Masters students under his supervision.

Dr. Yadav is associated with a number of Central Government committees like CSIR, DST, DBT, UGC, AICTE, and other professional bodies – ICMA (ICC), CPCB.
