Process Chemistry:
The most satisfying and rewarding aspect of the process development studies has been the scale up
of 27 products from g scale to commercial manufacturing as given below:
1. EBDC Fungicides: Mancozeb
2. Organophosphorus compounds-
3. Intermediates: TMP, DETC, DMTC, DEP, 3,5-Dichloroaniline
4. Active Ingredients: Acephate, Monocrotophos, Chorpyriphos Ethyl, Temephos,
Chlorpyriphos Me, Fosetyl Al;
5. Synthetic Pyrethroids- Fenvalerate, Deltamethrin, Cypermethrin, Permethrin.
6. Organochlorine compounds:PP- Dicofol
7. Triazoles: Mycobutanil, Tebuconazole, Penconazole.
8. Systemic Fungicides: Iprodione, Cymoxanil, Tricyclazole, Karathane , Bifenazate,
Thiabendazole
9. Herbicides: Diclofop Me, Sulcotrione, S-Metolachlor, Glyphosate, Oxyfluorfen,

Having studied at Cambridge consultants for 3 rd Generation R&D Management, I can convert
customer requirements into QFD and vice versa.
Areas of Specialization:
Process Development in Organic Chemistry (Heterocyclic and Green Chemistry, Emulsion
Polymerisation and botanical Extracts).
Achievements:
Development of Green Chemistry related Projects:
Development of Various Processes by substituting hazardous solvents like DMSO, DMF and
Hazardous Reagents like sodamide, NaH using Phase Transfer Catalysis.
Process Development Studies of more than 100 active ingredients and intermediates some of them
involving multi step syntheses. 27 of above products were successfully scaled up to commercial
scale.
Removal of Toxic Impurities from waste water: Soil borne bacteria to remove toxic impurities like
ethylene thiourea.
Ammoxidation- conversion of Methyl group in a heterocycle directly to Nitrile function in one step.
Process Engineering:
1. Development of Continuous Process for Trimethylphosphite
2. Development of co-feed process for Mancozeb to take care of reaction kinetics.
Formulations:
1. Preparation of Dust free formulations in place of wettable powders
2. Microencapsulation: Development of microencapsulation of crop protection chemical
formulations.
Awarded Six patents on process development studies of crop protection chemicals.
GLP GUIDELINES:
Involved in documentation of analytical method developments using GLP guidelines
Associated with MNCs like BASF, BAYER, CHEMTURA, DUPONT, DOW and Syngenta in
developing processes from g scale to commercial scale.
Development and Successful Defence of Dossier for EU.
Conversion of Customer requirements into QFD.
